Happy Birthday
Thursday August, 06 2009

| It
was on this day, eight years ago, that I taught the first yoga
class at onlYoga. As the studio approaches the decade mark
(wow!), I feel very blessed to have had this time to explore and
enjoy a life altering practice with amazing students! The continued success of onlYoga is due in no small part to all the hard work and support of an entire community. I could not have made it happen without the help of some really talented and dedicated friends - Thank you! I am looking forward to eight more years... Sincerely, John Merideth |

Spring
Schedule Update Effective 5/11/09

Please note the following changes to the onlYoga Spring Schedule:
***The Tuesday 6 - 7:30pm Hip Opening and the 7:45 - 9pm Intro class have both been Cancelled.
They will be replaced by an evening Mysore class from 6 - 9pm (description below).
***Wednesday 6 - 7:30pm is now a LEVEL 3 Primary Series Class.
Tuesday Evening Mysore 6 - 9PM
Mysore
Ashtanga Yoga is traditionally taught and practiced in a non-traditional or non-western way. Instead of classes being verbally led by an instructor, students practice at their own pace and level. Individual attention is offered to each student through adjustments from the instructor(s). The idea behind non-lead practices is to deepen the internal awareness of the individual while also allowing students to progress in their practice in an organic non-hurried manner. Mysore classes are generally longer 3+ hours, giving students flexibility on when to arrive, how long to stay, which postures they wish to work on, etc. Mysore classes are truly polymorphic since anyone with a basic background in yoga can show up and "do their thing". New students are welcome to attend our Mysore sessions, however, they will be limited to learning the Ashtanga basics of tristana (breath, locks, gaze) and the Sun Salutations from Rosalyn or John. As new students return, they will be given additional postures to work on from week to week. Questions email John.
Mysore classes at onlYoga are about practicing WITHIN the supportive onlYoga community while learning to let go and PLAY on ones yoga mat...remember we often take life way too seriously and that's why it is ONLYOGA! Tuesday Mysore classes will begin at 6pm and end at 9pm. Students can arrive anytime after 6pm, however, you should leave a minimum of 45 - 60 minutes to complete your asana practice. In other words, you should try to start your practice no later than 8:15pm (we will turn off the lights and lock the door at 9pm). John Merideth and Rosalyn Nix Tate will both be present to assist and adjust students during their practice.
